What do you do in Vienna at 5 am in the morning when it is below 0 degrees outside? Absolutely nothing! All you can do is keep walking and window shopping to keep from freezing your tush off! By 6 am on a Saturday morning, we were so frozen we we desperate for anything to open in this gorgeous but absolutely dead city. Although Mc D’s is on our list of forbidden destinations, it was the one and only place that opened at 7 am. It sounded so terribly good.
Not to give a bed impression, Vienna was stunning. The main promenade, the churches, St. Stephen’s breath takingly horrifying church, the Albertina museum, pastry shops, abundant choice and quality of clothing, and trinket stores. Oh, and the Christmas markets were absolutely wonderful. There were Christmas trees everywhere, every alleyway and passage we romantically wandered into surprised us with its intricate details and decorations.
And when in Vienna, no one counts how many cafes you visit or espressos you dare enjoy.
